Mother passed away last Sunday Morning. She was 91. Tomorrow is her memorial. We have prepared a memorial picture show. Click on the image below.

I hope to be composed enough to say the following words at the service:

Mom meant a lot to many people. She acted in little theater-that was before I was old enough to remember much. She and my father taught people to enjoy round dancing. But not me-immersion therapy, I guess.  She had been a Yoga instructor-our children knew her as the Grand mom who stood on her head. She was a master bridge player-I think she even taught me a little about it. She was a tour guide in Washington-my children got to see much of our nation's history.

Life wasn't always easy for Mom, but she learned to be resourceful and adapt to the changes in her world. She was an awesome cook and could make thrifty dishes wonderfully tasty. She was able to adapt from the days of butter, sugar, and chocolate being good things to serve to the times of healthy and flavorful cooking.

She went from days of vinyl records and tube televisions to wireless phones, remote controls, computers, and even the Internet. This was not without a few glitches of course! In the last few years I have been her computer tech. I usually called her on Saturday mornings. I remember one time she said "My screen doesn't look the same!" after an hour or so we managed to get things to look normal for her, mind you, I could not see nor touch her screen-I was in California at the time! Needless to say, shortly after that we set up remote access for me to FIX her computer!

She was proud of her family. I will always remember her last trip to California when she met her first Great Grandchild. The joy lit up her face!

We will miss Mom. I will miss Mom.  I will always remember things like going to market on a sled in New Jersey, the round dance music keeping me awake, the time she hurt her back helping Trish learn to walk. Saturday mornings will never be quite the same.
